  • About me

I’m a christian girl in South Africa, a doctor. I’m married. I like to visit new places and see new things. I get bored and distracted quite easily. I tend to order the same things over and over again at restaurants. I enjoy medicine - the challenge and the humanity of it. I enjoy pictures, nature, original ideas, beauty, creativity, music, poetry, and things that remind me of the important things in life . I never have time for everything I want to do and all too often end up wasting the time I do get on (guess) the internet! I have many facets that only a few get to explore fully - you don’t know me until you know me (although I am working on this - learning to get past the superficial and into the deep).

Challies – The Evidences of God’s Grace

The following is a post written by Tim Challies about grace. I really identified with the first  part, and then the analogy with the father and his child just really drove in the nail. Good writing http://www.challies.com/christian-living/evidences-of-gods-grace

Grace

By the transformational power of his grace, God unilaterally reaches into the muck of this fallen world, through the presence [...]

My divided heart

I read a stunning prayer by Scotty Smith on A Disciple’s Study. The writer of this blog shares parts of sermons and books from all sorts of different sources. His posts often inspire me. Here’s the prayer: “The Lord saves not with sword and spear. For the battle is the Lord’s. 1 Sam. 17:47 This is what the Lord says to [...]

God’s kingdom part 2

I can’t say that I always understand what the word means when it says certain things. Matthew 5-7 is all about the sermon on the mount. Jesus talks about the way that we should live, doesn’t he? True, but it’s not the complete truth. He’s giving an illustration of what his kingdom is like. I’ve [...]

Homosexuality

Why should Christians be so biased against homosexuals? I’m not saying it is right. I’m simply saying that we are all under grace anyway. Paul addressed a letter to the Corinthians (or was it the Ephesians?), calling them saints, and then berated some of them for immoral sexual practices. He mentioned as well, that just [...]
